Visceris Voyage is scheduled to debut under Shueisha next month, adding another project to Boichi’s impressive resume. The artist has worked on various Japanese and South Korean titles, including Sun-Ken Rock, One Piece episode A, TOON, and others. Boichi’s most recent project was He Was There, which was well-received by manga readers.
For those unfamiliar with Boichi, it’s worth noting that the artist originally hails from South Korea and started his career in manhwa before moving to Japan. Boichi debuted as an artist in 1993 while pursuing his graduate degree. He made his manga debut in 2004 and gained recognition with his work on Sun-Ken Rock two years later. However, Boichi is best known for his collaboration with writer Riichiro Inagaki on Dr. Stone, a popular shonen series from March 2017 to its conclusion in 2022.
Dr. Stone’s popularity continues growing steadily, largely due to its sci-fi visuals. The series will make a comeback this year with its third season. This comes after the release of Dr. Stone: Ryusui in July 2022, along with the first two seasons. If you need to catch up on the series, Dr. Stone can be streamed on Hulu and Crunchyroll. For those seeking more information about Boichi’s most successful project to date, the synopsis of Dr. Stone is provided below:
Following a cataclysmic event, humanity is mysteriously petrified by a blinding flash of light. After thousands of years, high schooler Taiju wakes up in a world of statues. But he soon discovers that he’s not alone in this new world. His scientifically-inclined friend, Senku, had awoken several months before and had been devising a plan to rebuild civilization using the power of science.
